NBP & ECB Exchange Rates

Get the official exchange rate for an invoice or a bookkeeping entry, with the table number and date you need to cite.

What it does:

• Returns the NBP (National Bank of Poland) average rate of a currency for a given day (table A for main currencies, table B for exotic ones, table C for bank buy/sell rates). On weekends and holidays, when NBP publishes no table, it returns the previous published table and says so explicitly.
• Applies the Polish rule used for invoices and tax settlements (VAT, PIT, CIT): the average NBP rate from the last business day PRECEDING the invoice or tax point date - "kurs NBP z dnia poprzedzającego" - and explains which table and date it used. A Monday invoice gets Friday's table, never Monday's own.
• Converts an amount between PLN and a foreign currency at the NBP rate (for example "przelicz 1200 USD na PLN po kursie NBP z 15.09"), with exact decimal arithmetic rounded half-up to 2 places, the rate and the table shown next to the result.
• Returns the European Central Bank euro reference rate (1 EUR = x currency) for a given day, for pairs quoted against the euro.
• Lists a whole NBP table (about 35 currencies in table A) with its official number and date.

Good to know:

• Sources: NBP Web API and ECB Data API - official, public, no account or API key needed. Nothing about your questions is stored beyond a short in-memory cache.
• Rates are published after the fact: future dates are refused, and the plugin never guesses or estimates a rate.
• Which date counts as the tax point of a particular transaction is a question for your accountant. This plugin provides general information, not tax advice.
